Guess What It Is, Readers!

When I first saw this, I scratched my head, thought and thought, and never quite figured out what the dang thing was. I had to ask a local.

So now I'll pose the question to all of you – what'd ya think this is?

Two hints: this one is about three stories tall. And it was built one hundred and fifty years before the American Revolution.

No fair peeking on the Internet! The person who guesses it right gets a trip to Starbucks on me next time you visit Notre Dame!

  1. I'm going to guess it's similar to the Irish round towers--maybe a place where they could keep watch over the surrounding territory and possibly store religious treasures inside (or things that needed protection). Just a guess!

When you and Michele go to Rome, PLEASE find a way to take a day trip to Pompeii. It's unforgettable and the most memorable day I ever spent. Plan on one day for it--you can get a bus to take you there and back. I think we did ours through Grayline tours or something like that. But it is WELL worth every penny. To see colorful drawings on the walls that are 2000 years old--it takes you back.

  2. Going with some kind of Aviary. To keep pigeons? Or owls, like in Harry Potter (except then they called that an Owlry...)

Bon voyage a Paris, vous deux! Et bon chance a practicer parler le francais, hahah.

  3. Not sure how the internet would help here! But those 2nd story holes definitely make a bird house a strong possibility. Probably keep them for food, eggs, etc. Nice pic and good puzzle.
